Lady Gaga has once again used her music to make an emotional and hard-hitting political statement.
The grammy winner’s new song, ‘Til It Happens To You’, is the theme song for campus rape documentary “Hunting Ground,” which had a small release in January and has been airing at college campuses across North America since.
Lady Gaga’s heart-wrenching song and equally haunting video are a brutal and truthful exposure of the trauma and aftermath victims of sexual violence endure. 
Four stories are portrayed in the PSA of different people of unique ethnicities and orientation that are sexually assaulted, and the resulting effect the assault has on them. The gritty and emotionally unsettling video, written and directed by filmmaker, Catherine Hardwicke, starts off with a warning for those that may be triggered by the content and wraps up with the National Sexual Assault Hotline number.
A portion of all proceeds from the sale of the song will be donated to organizations helping survivors of sexual assault.
